February 10, 2011The SOS: Support Public Broadcasting Coalition notes the Minister’s intervention to ensure the integrity of the appointment of the SABC’s Chief Operating Officer (COO). The Coalition is, however, very concerned that the Minister has had to intervene to safeguard the integrity of the process. Also, in terms of the advertising of the COO post, The Coalition seeks clarity on the resolution of the long standing court case and court order relating to Mr. Mavuso Mbebe’s appointment process, which we understand to be one of the reasons why this post has not been advertised to date.
