Podcast: New Broadcasting Amendment Bill

A bill approved by cabinet in the aims of stabilising the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) has been met with resistance. The Broadcasting Amendment Bill removes the role of Members of Parliament (MPs) in appointing non-executive board members at the  SABC.

The bill will consequently give Communications Minister Faith Muthambi the power to recommend board members to the board for appointment.

SOS national Coordinator Sekoetlane Phamodi unpacks the truth about the bill for Power FM’s Tim Modise.
